If you live within the boundaries of the New Brunswick Southwest and join the GPC, then you automatically become a member of the New Brunswick Southwest Greens
Becoming a member:
Any citizen or permanent resident of Canada, who is at least fourteen (14) or older, is eligible for membership in the Party, with full voting rights, provided the person is not a member of any other political party. (GPC Constitution and Bylaws, see Bylaw 1.1.1)
A nominal donation (eligible for an income tax credit) is required when you sign up to become a member. Signing up for a monthly donation with your membership is the most effective way to support the GPC. Alternatively, you can sign up for a one-year membership with a donation of $10 or more, or a three-year membership with a donation of $25 or more.
To become a member of New Brunswick Southwest Greens, sign up here and a portion of your donation will be directed to the local New Brunswick Southwest Greens. Alternatively, you can sign up here and mail the application and or form along with your donation to the Financial Agent of the New Brunswick Southwest EDA. Either way, you become a member of the national GPC and the New Brunswick Southwest Greens. Any cheques mailed to the Financial Agent must be made out to “New Brunswick Southwest Greens”
Please note that it helps if you always use the same email address when communicating with the national office and the EDA.
After signing up for membership, be sure to also register a user account on the GPC website (with your own username and password) to get access to members-only pages.
You can check the status of your membership under “My Profile” after logging in to the GPC website. If you cannot remember your login or have not yet created an account, just follow the prompts.
Membership in the Green Party of Canada (GPC) gives you more than a warm feeling inside! You can:

Being a member:
Globally, all Green parties and their members are encouraged to follow (and help to further develop) the principles in the Charter of the Global Greens, which was adopted in 2001 and updated in 2012.
At the national level, a member in good standing for at least 30 days in the Green Party of Canada is eligible to attend General Meetings held at least once every two years, and participate in and vote on national issues including:
- Green Policy Development
- Election of the GPC’s Leader
- Election of the GPC’s Federal Council
- Leadership nominations (GPC Constitution and Bylaws, see Bylaw 2)
At the local level, as a member in good standing for at least 30 days in the Electoral District Association, you are invited to participate in the governance and policy development of the EDA. This includes attending our Annual General Meeting (AGM), usually in February after year end reports are completed, participating in one or more ways as a volunteer, and voting to elect the volunteers who form the Executive Committee, which governs the EDA and manages its operations between AGM’s.
